Five Minute Friday: Ordinary

Okay so I know it's not Friday anymore - but the rules say not to worry if it's just right or on time.  So here I am.  Ordinary for me has become overwhelming.  My life is crazy busy - which explains why Friday's post is being posted on Saturday!  Most of the time I like it that way.  However, lately it has really been too much.  Maybe it's because I am getting older, out of shape or just plain tired.  An ordinary day for me goes something like this:  get up and get a shower;  feed the dog and let him out; wake Shawn up;  iron whatever clothes I am going to wear; wake Shawn up again;  pack my lunch (unless Rodney beats me to it - love those days); rush to school; teach all day; attend meetings, run book clubs or help with Wyldlife; come home and help with homework; do college coarsework; decide if I have time to make dinner or if we will grab something on the road; go to church meetings, Boy Scouts, baseball or soccer (sometimes we do more than one in a night);  come home and make Shawn get ready for bed; check emails, mail and coupon websites; get snack prepared for somthing that will surely happen tomorrow (book clubs, wyldlife, my classes, Shawn's classes...whatever).  This list doesn't include laundry, grocery shopping, dishes, cleaning, fundraising, committee, or team mom duties - these will all get done at some point.  I enjoy being busy, but I think I am ready for a simple life.  I am ready for a new ordinary.  Stay tuned and I'll let you know how that works out for me!

  1. Oh goodness. I would never be able to do all that every day. May God bless you and give you the ability to make the changes that will make you and your family less overwhelmed and more peaceful.

In Jesus' Name I ask it,
    Amen.
